Parents

Welcome Parents

Parents are one of the most important resources ASUA Safe Ride has in continuing our mission of providing safe, reliable transportation and quality safety educational programming to the university community. Not only are parents a key source of financial support, but they also frequently provide us with new ideas and suggestions for how to improve and expand our program to better serve students. In the past, parent concerns have been the inspiration for new initiatives such as the Whistle-Stop Campaign (co-sponsored with the University Police) and expansion of the service boundaries to include Pima Community College Downtown Campus, where many UA students enroll in night classes.

In the 2005-2006 academic year, in an effort to connect even better with parents, ASUA Safe Ride has begun publishing a series of newsletters aimed in part at providing parents with accurate, up-to-date information about ASUA Safe Ride and campus safety in general. These newsletters, which are expected to be distributed frequently by email and occasionally by regular mail, will notify parents of any important campus safety alerts, upcoming safety educational events, and recent statistics concerning the usage and response times of ASUA Safe Ride. In short, these newsletters will be a fantastic way for parents to stay involved throughout the year in ensuring that their students are taking advantage of all the safety resources our campus has to offer.
